Dragon-fish anyone?! This one, for me, is mainly about protecting your smallest hopes and dreams that you have from dying. I wanted the 'angel' to appear as if she was helping them lift up (represented by the bubble orbs). The dragon loosely represents the determination of the spirit as well as being essentially tied to the 'angel' and her task. This is something that I feel I'm still working on ... I keep finding things that I want to mess around with. So I thought I'd just post it to get some feedback. Any thoughts or constructive criticism is appreciated. It should be noted that I didn't plan this at all and just started painting with blobs of colour. I started to see the image within and brought it out. I just did what I wanted and didn't give myself any rules, so you may have to keep that in to consideration when commenting. Click for: Used: Photoshop Elements and minimal Corel Painter. I've started to notice a more painterly direction to my work and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Hmmm. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Important: You may NOT use this work in ANY way without prior written consent from me, the artist. This work is NOT public domain. CommentsSimply captivating and incredible.
I may be forced to write a critique of this one. Awesome work. -- "Ladies and gentlemen, suppose I come right out with it and admit to you now, that my old Martian hoax on the radio, was well, not exactly...a hoax." -Orson Welles [link] |

when I first laid my eyes on it, I was a little confused, but then I realised she was in the water, it's a little un-clear as there's hardly any ripples or highlights in the water, so if you'd add a tiny bit more of detail on the water surface itself, like making more clear ripples in the water around the girl and behind the Koi-dragon fish. It would be a fair bit better I think.
Though, the way you made her "pop" out of the water and the blending there is staggering, same with her dress.
It truly is a stunning piece with lot's of detail and feelings in it.
Great work.
