Edit: 24/10/08 - Eye shadows and highlights

I think she's day dreaming! :aww:

I just wanted to do a portrait and plus, I need the practice. No refs except for briefly looking at my own neck for the shadows. I hope to do some more portraits in the future too. I find them quite fun.

I feel like it has a summery to autumnal feel about it. :)

...*WOW*.

This is absolutely amazing, Lunar!! I can't get over how wonderfully the lace and feathers have been painted; They're gorgeous!! Stunning attention to detail, as always. I love the light and airy colour-scheme of this ("Delicate", indeed!! :giggle:), and the butterfly hairclip is so cute, and just a lovely touch to her hair. There's just so much movement in this piece, and the technique and everything is as great as ever; Definitely worthy of a :+fav:!! :heart:

I know! I know! Lol! I'm working my way up to the possibility, don't worry. ;) I want to get some more portraits done first for practice ... I'm trying to approach them differently.

Very lovely miss lunar :) I think its great and without refs for most of it. One thing i'd do is cast a darker shadow at the top of her eyeballs. Other than that, i think your well on your way to becoming an excellent realism painter. Especially nice detailing on the flowerish string.

That's noted in my brain! I felt that they may not have been prominent enough. Thank you!

Do you think it's a bad thing to go into realism? Because I'm wondering if it puts you in danger of losing a sense of style
