Artist's Comments

I've always wanted to draw an elephant. :) I enjoyed working on this as the texture of the elephant's skin is quite different. It's something I would also like to do again. Used my own photographic references.

Its awsome :jawdrop: It almost looks just like a back and white photo. You did an amazing job with the texture and shading I have lots of trouble with shading with pencils ^^; so I think you did a wonderful job on this.

oh, wow! You got exceptional skills using pencils! I remember the little mouse with the scary detail and now this! It's almost like it's been traced from the real photo. I had some fine art lessons trying to put statues on paper and I know how hard it is to do something like that. well done!

Oh my, he's so adorable! He actually looks like he's smiling ^^ The little details are great, like the wrinkles and cracks in the skin and the thin hairs on the lower lip. I love the foreshortening on the trunk, it's like I can reach out and touch him *-*

Did you have to read George Orwell's Shooting an Elephant in school? We just finished up our essays unit in English, so your drawing made me remember it. It's so sad! I had a nightmare because of it ;;
